My Husband is to cheese what pigs are to truffles, wait that sounds wrong… what bird dogs are to… no, this is getting worse… what trained Cormorants are to Fishermen in China… nope, no better. Bad metaphors aside, when it comes to cheese, my Husband is genius. If there is a cheese to top all cheeses he will root it out, it’s in his Italian blood to know the finest food when he sees it.
For Thanksgiving last year, Bello and I stayed home, a first. I wanted our feast to be special and planned a menu of snacktastic appetizers for a full day of decadent indulgence. Sweet & Salty Nuts, a lovely Cruditè, Chorizo Deviled Eggs and the best Cheese we could find.
When we hit the market, grocery list in hand, Bello had his mission, keep the drinks from running dry and finding the best cheese. In typical style he came back with a tremendous find. Four Fat Fowl St. Stephen. Oh my cheeses was it good.

Since Thanksgiving, we’ve hit the road for a while. Our summer plans are Italy, Spain and France, but for now, we’re in O-HI-O with my family. On arriving, we were quickly reminded “We’re not in Manhattan anymore Toto.” After a decade in the Big Apple, we are finding many of our favorite food indulgences that we took for granted are hard sought finds in Ohio, if you can find them at all.
So, not to be deprived, this week, to thank my Husband for being the hard working, amazing man he is, I decided he deserved, no needed, no MUST have his new favorite cheese.
