Motion: Humboldt Fog as the NEW “American Cheese”

I’d like to make a motion, that Humboldt Fog Grande be named the new “American Cheese.” Forget that orange plasticky tasting, plastic wrapped single, by whom the makers… shall not be named.

It’s true, America had a culinary phase where we got carried away with the convenience of processed, pre-packaged, pre-cooked foods. Yet I feel change-a-coming, we’re falling in love with taste, real food again. We’re cooking at home, we’re smokin’, snapping, blogging and sharing real food all across this great nation. What’s more, today we seek out Artisanal, Artisan, Hand Crafted.

We cheer on our fellow American’s like Mary Keehn of Humboldt County, California. A Hippie Mom of four, living in a land once remote and removed from Fast Food. From chasing down goats for milk for her kids, to launching Cypress Grove Chevre in 1983, to global recognition, winning Gold at the London International Cheese Competition in 2004 with Humboldt Fog Grande. Mary’s story is as inspiring as her cheese.

Come on American, we can do it. Let’s shift the world’s perception that we’re a Fast-Food Nation and show them we have great food in our great land. Let’s #MakeHumboldtFogAmericanCheese and show the world, well France, let’s at least show France, who the real Big Cheese is!
