Cross Country Coming Up!

Can you hear it? Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again.” Here’s the part I love,

On the road again

Goin’ places that I’ve never been
Seein’ things that I may never see again

And I can’t wait to get on the road again
On the road again

Oh how Bello and I love those “On the Road Again” Willie Nelson Lyrics. We sing them to each other all the time, at random moments just before the next leg of a trip. Although Willie Nelson wrote the song about musicians, we’re Artists who love music and well, this just fits.

Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We’re the best of friends
Insisting that the world keep turning our way

And our way
Is on the road again
Just can’t wait to get on the road again

As part of Art of Living on the Road, it became clear, it was time for these two Gypsy Lovers to buy a car. So we did! Meet Nantucket, named after one of our favorite places to travel.

The newest member of our little family, Nanty now makes us three. Buying your first used car as a couple, comes with a lot of saving, research and responsibility and we just knew we were finally ready.

Nanty has already proven herself to be a fierce, feisty gal, like her Mom. She’s also very smart like her Dad and possibly, a little Italian. No loan, she refused to be brought home until we paid for her in full. No debt, no interest payments, no way… how very Italian!

Nanty enjoys taking windy roads, honking at other Mazda 6s and cross country drives. So that’s just what we’ve decided our first family trip will be. Perfect timing with the National Park Service Centennial.

Next week right after the Upper Arlington Labor Day Arts Festival, we’re hitting the road again. Thus the Willie Nelson classic “On the Road Again.” We can’t get that song out of our heads right now. Sorry if I just stuck it in yours!

We’re driving from Ohio to Portland, our home base for the next two months. Our itinerary includes:

When you get to stay at a place called Roaming Cowboy Inn, you know it’s gonna be a good trip.

It’s true there are faster routes. This one gives Bello the most scenic views possible for his PaoloFerrarisColors work.

We are taking recommendations though. If you’ve done the good ole American cross country drive and think we’re missing the best part JUST a bit further, give us a shout below.

For now, it’s “On the Road Again!”
