Preparing to move to the Pacific Northwest a passage from Jonathan Livingston Seagull has recently been on my mind.
“You have the freedom to be yourself, your true self, here and now, and nothing can stand in your way.” — Richard Bach,
Pacific Northwest Artwork
Bello gifted me with a trip to Washington for my 40th birthday. Despite an entire week of heavy rain, many of the pieces in Paolo Ferraris Colors “Skyscapes” collection were inspired, by this very trip.
Collectively these pieces represent the beautiful colors, the blues and greens that hue a stormy sky.
The Pacific Northwest is known for its rainfall, yet the beauty of the shoreline is never hampered by the storms. Dramatic clouds dance across an endless horizon. It’s no wonder painters and photographers flock to her shores.
“What was the color of Her Hair?
A Smile surfaces” –Paolo Ferraris, Artist
Reflecting back, Paolo created many beautiful pieces, inspired by that trip.
That trip also represented a moment of recognition for me. As an artistic couple, we propel each other forward. True partnership must always allow you to be yourself and to be free. For that is the true spirit of love.
Our time in Washington proved to be a fateful trip, confirming for us the Pacific Northwest was where we wanted to live. Despite the rain, which never stopped us from having fun.
Each Monday ALOR reflects back on travel using Art and Photography created by Paolo Ferraris. We hope you’ll join us for short inspiring stories from around the world each week on ALOR.blog, Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.
