It’s been nearly thirty years since summer moved slowly. Time thick with humidity. In childhood, there is time to pass. Time to play.
Now, time is racing and travel is the only thing slowing it down.
While in Prague a moment translated all boundaries. Bubbles were blowing in the wind. In a split second, I was back in Ohio passing time with my big sister. Blowing bubbles and watching our Dalmatian Tasha chase them.
Shifting from bubbles to the crowd, I watched as most stayed rooted to the ground. Taking photos, smiling, looking up, reaching. Waiting for a bubble to blow to them.
Yet there was this one kid. He was leaping, jumping, laughing. Popping bubbles with every bit of energy in him.
He caught Paolo’s attention, who captured these photos. He caught my attention too.
I want to be that kid. The one who leaps. The one putting all my energy into what I’m doing.
Here’s to living in the moment and leaping towards life.
