Living and Traveling in Italy, What Would You Like to Know?

If you could ask us anything about living or traveling in Italy, what would you like to know? Post your questions in the comments below. We’ll do our best to answer them in upcoming posts.

I’m delighted to share that over the last year, a lot of people subscribed to ALOR Italy! Welcome! Thank you for trusting us with your time. Time, for reasons I’ll explain below, is something Paolo and I (Your ALOR Italy team) do not take for granted.

If you’re not new to ALOR Italy chances are you know, I’ve been undergoing cancer treatment in Italy. Your comments of support and well wishes have been deeply appreciated.

Despite how hard this has been, I’m doing well now that chemo, surgery, and radiation treatments are behind me. Hopefully, once I finish treatments in the fall, I’ll feel like myself once again.

It might sound silly but, if I can style my hair for the holidays I’ll be one happy woman! Thankfully my hair is growing back with a vengeance. It’s so thick it’s like Syndromes (the bad guy in The Incredibles movie.) Imagine a bouncy hair helmet, and you’ll have an idea of what I’m rocking these days.

Jokes aside, given everything Paolo and I have faced fighting cancer, we’ve never been more careful with time.

Paolo and I started this blog in 2016 so we could stay in touch with family and friends. When we grew closer to early retirement in Italy, we started sharing our love for the Italian lifestyle. All along the way, we valued freedom of time above all else.

Hence our motto Live Italian.

As two introverts, we are constantly on the lookout for ways to avoid crowds in Italy. Since Paolo grew up in Torino, he has long been a pro at off-season travel in Italy. Consequently, we are passionate about passing that knowledge on to you. Thus you can avoid crowds and save money on your trip to Italy.
